In an ongoing community effort to support wounded soldiers and their families, Skyline Country Club is gearing up to host the 8th Annual Tee It Up For The Troops charity golf tournament. Anyone in the greater Tucson area is welcome to partake in this fundraiser.
For this fundraising event, golf foursomes will be partnered with Davis Monthan Air Force Base personnel and Arizona Air National Guard Task Force Desert Hawk troops for a modified five-person scramble. The cost is $150.00 per person for breakfast, lunch and golf. In honor of our armed forces, all Davis Monthan Air Force personnel participating play and dine at no cost.
The event will take place Saturday, November 16, 2013. To kick off the event, Skyline Country Club will host a breakfast beginning at 7:00 a.m. The Opening Ceremony will follow at 8:00 a.m., with a full Military Honor Guard to post colors on the driving range. The opening ceremony includes a special surprise for all Skyline members, military guests and those who live in the area. In years past, Skyline has had the joys of an AH-64D Apache and a UH-72 Lakota helicopter land on the driving range. If you see anything in the sky over the clubhouse on November 16, it is in honor of the armed forces. Past participates have said that their love of golf is enhanced each year on this day of appreciation. This patriotic golf tournament will tee off at 9:00 a.m., with a delicious lunch beginning at 1:30 p.m. A raffle is held during lunch; where many community members hand over their prizes to the service men and women in attendance, we appreciate all that you do.
