While many community organizations use Skyline to host events and fundraisers, Skyline hosts its own community events at the Club.
The annual “Tee it Up/Serve it up for the Troops” event is held in early November. This fun event allows members to team up with members of the active military serving at Davis Monthan Air Force Base or from the Western Army Training Center in Marana to play golf or tennis, and enjoy breakfast and lunch together. Prizes are awarded to the teams with the best scores. There are raffles and auctions to raise funds for charities supporting service personnel wounded in action or the families of deployed personnel.
The day starts with a wonderful opening ceremony and ends with new appreciation and friendships with those who serve our country. Through the generosity of Skyline Members we have been pleased to raise more than $150,000 for these worthy causes.
In January each year the Skyline Women’s Golf Association holds an event to benefit the Susan Komen Breast Cancer Awareness. Funds raised through the golf event and raffles and auctions are donated for Breast Cancer Research through the University of Arizona Cancer Center.
