Tennis
Skyline has six clay tennis courts. Made of a material found right here in Arizona, the clay is a delight to play on during our hot spring and summer months, staying as much as thirty degrees cooler than a hard court.
This surface is a medium-speed, all-purpose court, which is much easier on joints and muscles than the more common hard court, especially for those players with “old injuries.” Four of the courts are lighted for evening play, and we have a backboard area and ball machine for practice.
The tennis office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. every day during the main season, and 7:30 a.m. to noon Saturday through Thursday during the summer. We are proud to have a unique, drop-in program for players of all levels, men and women on certain days; Wednesdays and Saturdays for the men and Tuesdays for the ladies. These afford any member the ability to show up and get into a game immediately without picking up the phone. If you prefer, reservations may be made up to a week in advance except on designated play days. Our staff is happy to fill in to play when needed, for those players who can only play at odd hours of the day or for situations with last-minute cancellations. For those who are new or out-of-touch with the membership at large, we will help find partners and games to get you started.
